At Journey Homes, supporting our local community is part of who we are.
We are delighted to have sponsored the new girls’ football kits for St Peter’s School, South Weald, providing Nike Pro kits featuring the St Peter’s shield alongside the Journey Homes name. Seeing the finished kits come together has been a real moment of pride for everyone involved.
The kits were delivered at just the right time, ahead of the girls’ football competition held on Tuesday 7th October 2025. The day saw Year 3 and 4 girls competing in the morning, followed by Year 5 and 6 girls in the afternoon. The excitement from the girls was clear to see, and it was fantastic to watch them take to the pitch wearing their new kits with confidence and pride. It was especially rewarding to see the girls win their matches – a fantastic achievement and a moment they should be very proud of.
Journey Homes have inspired our next generation of sports competitors. The generous gift of new Nike kits have been used constantly since we received them last term.
Iain Gunn, Headteacher at St Peter’s School, shared how much the kits have meant to the children:
“Journey Homes have inspired our next generation of sports competitors. The generous gift of new Nike kits have been used constantly since we received them last term. The girls have won the district football in them; we have used them for cross country, rugby, athletics, even new age curling.
The children are so proud to wear the kits and it does make a difference to their performance when the children are all in smart matching outfits. Journey Homes wanted to inspire as many children as possible, so they bought us a lot of kits in various sizes. This means all the children can use them from infants to Year Six.”

Journey proudly supporting sport, teamwork, and young talent at South Weald School.

The kits were produced by Valentine Embroideries, a local family-run business based in Essex, who handled the printing of the branded shirts. The quality of the finished kits looks amazing, right down to the matching socks, which completed the look perfectly. Supporting local businesses alongside local schools is something we value highly, and this collaboration made the project even more meaningful.
Supporting grassroots sport is incredibly important to us. Initiatives like this sit at the heart of our Community Pledge, particularly our commitment to supporting local young people, encouraging participation in sport, and promoting equality and opportunity from an early age. Football helps build teamwork, confidence, and resilience, and we are proud to play a small part in supporting those values within our community. It has been a brilliant collaborative effort, and the impact on the girls has been truly rewarding to see.
Well done to all the girls who took part and to everyone who showed up in support. We’re proud to stand beside you, every step of the way.
